Medicare Auth Groups


Due to changes in security requirements for the Medicare implementation this option is no longer available. If you would like to implement Medicare Online Claiming please contact our support team about upgrading to the latest version of BpAllied to enable this.
 
The creation of the Auth Group(s) to be used in Bp Allied is created in Data Maintenance > Medicare Auth Groups. When the Auth Group is created a NEW Minor ID is allocated by Claiming.com.au who manage the Bp Allied interface into Medicare.
 

Rules for creating an Auth Group

An Auth Group is a group of Provider numbers that use one bank account for depositing their funds from Medicare.
A Provider number can only be in one Auth Group. They need to be removed from any previous Minor ID / Auth Groups to be able to be added to an Auth Group in Bp Allied
A practitioner can have more than one Provider Number.
A practitioner can have one or more Provider numbers in an Auth Group.
A practice can have more than one Auth Group. An Auth Group is needed for each bank account funds need to be deposited in.
 
A Practitioners Provider number is allocated to an Auth Group in Options > User Administration > Provider Numbers
 
To add an Auth Group
In the Click here to add a new row line, enter in an Auth Group Name
Tab through the fields to add the line to the bottom of the list
Click Apply
The Minor ID will be allocated and entered into the table.
Click Ok to save
 
 
To disable an Auth Group
Untick the Active button for the Auth Group line required.
  • Please note that any Provider numbers that are allocated to this Auth Group will not be able to have claims processed for them.
 
 
To be able to view which providers are allocated to which Auth Group run the Medicare Auth Groups Report.
